America was in war for more than a decade because of racism, Gremans are still hated by Jews for their brutal act and United Kingdom used Asian and African as their belongings. Today the world has changed, Jews have their own country, Barack Obama is the new president and United Kingdon has the second largest Indian population after India. These big countries have all suffered, many thousand lost their lives and still hundreds suffering till today. BBC interviewed an army General, who was Hitler’s personal guard back than and he reminisces the time when he burnt down hundreds of women and children just because they were Jews. He cried on the camera for each statement he gave and just one week from the interview he died. Remember the black man who said “Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. The old law of an eye for an eye leaves everyone blind. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding; it seeks to annihilate rather than convert. Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destrous community and makes brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends by defeating itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.” You guessed it right…his name is Dr. Martin Luther King.
Lets face the fact, we are a small country with just a handful of people and we follow Buddhism. We are taught to be compassionate, pray for others and restrain any wrong doings that will hurt the other party. Just some years ago we were at wars and even today we cant be ignorant about the terrorism activities in our country. Are we divided despite His Majesties simple vision of One Country, One People. Think it over Bhutanese people where we are heading towards. Word like “Ngalong” “Sharchop” “Jaga” “Ngolope” are all misleading and very irrational. Most amazing is small children’s using these words, who taught them these? I am sure not their teachers. I have a friend and her Mom is working with one of the schools in Thimphu. She is a lhotsham teacher teaching for class 4 students. She was called “Jaga” by two class three students who are very young for punishing them. How would she feel and how would you feel? Lets make a change, lets unite together, lets give a simple gift to our King and show him that we really are happy. Tashi Delek
